Josh Heupel had the PERFECT reaction to Vols baseball players wearing Florida football helmets
The Tennessee Vols baseball team ruffled some feathers in Gainesville this weekend by sweeping Florida, then mocking the Gators by wearing UF helmets in an Instagram video.

On Monday, Tennessee football coach Josh Heupel appeared on WNML Josh and Swain and was asked how he felt about UT baseball players “making fun” of the Gators.
And Heupel had an answer that I’m sure most Vols fans will love.
“I hope they took a pencil and drew all over”…Josh Heupel doesn’t care about Florida 😂 pic.twitter.com/JLZgK1KDxG

“I hope they took a pencil and drew all over [the Florida helmets]said Heupel. “[It] doesn’t matter to me. They can do whatever they want in Gainesville – they came away with the sweep. I’m so excited about what our baseball team is doing. When things are going well on a college campus athletically, your brand and logo are in front of people 365 days a year…it’s a great time to be in Tennessee.
“Success breeds success,” Heupel added.
Clearly Heupel doesn’t care much about Florida. But can you imagine if the Tennessee players would have actually brought a pencil to the Florida helmets? Gators fans would be pretty excited about that. But I think Vols fans would have loved that too.
Intense rivalries are what the SEC exists for. Tennessee, however, must start beating Florida in football again to make the rivalry relevant to the SEC East outcome.
Heupel’s team should have a good chance of beating the Gators in Knoxville in 2022. But if they don’t, Tennessee must prepare for a rebuttal from Florida over the weekend’s helmet incident. last.
